Personality:
adderstrike is one of those cats who has to make his point clear. arrogant and aggressive, he forces himself into clan decisions. in order to make himself clear, he will raise his voice and get right up in your face and repeat himself until you understand and agree with him. if someone is particularly stubborn, he will get frustrated and storm off in a fume, eyes dark and ears back. he is very sharp tongued when he doesn’t get his way and is not scared to tell off another cat.Description:
his arrogance shows through mostly while hunting or fighting. he has the ‘i’m better then you’ mentality and tends to lash out on younger warriors for mistakes. if a warrior younger than him makes a good catch, adderstrike will merely mumble lucky catch and flick his tail in dismissal, in other words, he hates being outdone. especially in things he feels he is superior at. for example, get him in a battle and he will go out of his way to lay a claw on more cats than any other cat within the battle as a whole. snapping on apprentices is a daily routine for this tom.
with his size, adderstrike feels like he has to be aggressive: forcing himself at other cats, challenging all decisions and the first to suggest a fight over something as simple as a small border breach. not afraid to get in trouble over his words, he will challenge the leader. but along with this, he does know when to stop, so he isn’t a total prick and he does know when he has pushed the limit and crossed the line. though he od very, very proud, adderstrike will apologize -maybe not sincerely- but he will own up to his wrong doing.
one of his major weaknesses is that he gets cocky and as a result, gets hurt in the process, and he gets chastised for being stupid. He feels that if he acts all powerful and invincible, the other cats will believe it and bow down to him. so, he is a little high on himself. a strength that he has is that he is a good fighter, quick to make decisions and moves throughout the battle quickly and efficiently. however, he tends to be stupid and get injured more the other cats.
adderstrike is one of those cats who have a constant scowl etched upon his face. brow always furrowed and eyes covered with a haze of annoyance and anger, power just radiates from him, but not necessarily at the greatest of times. he does, however, have a habit of unsheathing and sheathing his claws at random intervals, which has resulted in them being gnarled and a yellow white colour. his paws are wide set and his toes are easily seen through the fur upon them.Clan Page Description:
the fur that covers his body is tabby, though a more mottled colour. the tabby markings aren’t easily noticed on his back where the fur is very thick, but on his legs the markings are very noticeable. the stripes vary from a light grey to black, while the rest of his pelt is a dusty grey hue. his ears are a slightly darker grey then his base coat and the furs that stick up across them are cream color and white. on his nose, between his eyes are two stripes, one next to the right eye and one next to the left eye. and his eyes, are a dark yellow.
large, grey tabby tom with deep yellow eyesHistory:
the parents of this young kit were two of the less popular cats among the clan. brackenclaw was a very quiet tom with poor hunting and fighting skills due to an injury to his shoulder, and he refused to move to the elders den at such a young age. his mother, was a raging cow, very opinionated and would bite anyone’s head off if they so much as looked at her wrong. so the clan was surprised when the two cats got together. it was the perfect balance between aggression and submission and it worked -technically speaking- well in the end.Rp Sample:
the two cats proclaiming they were mates had nothing on how shocked the clan was when manglepelt announced she was expecting kits. the other she-cats would gossip about how in starclans name this cat could even get a tom to put up with her. and the toms merely shook their head at brackenclaw's decision. but, in the end, the clan decided that all relationships were to be cherished especially those expecting kits. kits meant more warriors and more warriors meant a stronger clan, so they got over the shock and disapproval. many long moons went by, with an extra grouchy manglepelt and an easy to irritate brackenclaw. but, after a pain staking process, three beautiful kits were born. a small white one and brown she-cat, named lotuskit, a larger silver pelted tom named swiftkit and the largest of the three, a grey tabby tom with piercing dark yellow eyes, adderkit.
the kits were very noisy, nosy, and boastful like all kits. lotuskit was the quietest, very shy, much like her father, but she loved acting innocent when she attacked an elders tail and blaming it on one of her brothers. swiftkit was quick to make up excuses and even quicker to apologize, and adderkit was the loudest of them all and the bossiest. the queens loved him because he had that arrogant charm but the warriors were constantly knocking him off his high horse and bringing, sometimes very harshly, him back to reality. he would always answer with a very rude comment, under his breath so they wouldn't hear him, but sometimes, they would hear him and he would get a hard cuff on the head.
upon the kits receiving their apprentice names, brackenclaw came down with a very serious case of greencough. the medicine cat at the time, thought he would pull through because he had a strong heart, but he soon passed in his sleep. manglepelt was devastated and was plunged into a state of withdrawal and depression, and was forced to retire to the elders den, at the age of 34 moons. lotuspaw, swiftpaw and adderpaw were also very sad at the loss of their father, but with the help from the clan and themselves, they learned to live with it, and the darkened mood of their mother. adderpaw was trained by a small warrior, soft spoken but a strong fighter and very viscious when talked down too. she was the perfect match for the smart mouthed, crude apprentice.
adderpaw trained quickly and with the constant butting heads with his mentor, he was heading down the path of his mother, cruel and disliked. but he had an advantage to his mother, he had the charm and he knew when he had done wrong and though he was proud, he knew enough to shut up and apologize when proved wrong or when he hurt someone with his words or actions. coming up to their warrior ceremony, lotuspaw was found fraternizing with the enemy clan, and she was shunned from the clan and became part of riverclan. there she received her name of lotus-step. the embarrassment and hurt of being abandoned by lotus-step, adderpaw's attitude turned mean and careless. the leader took this into account when choosing his name, and he was given the name of adderstrike for his harsh demeanour.
his brother also received his name and that night they sat vigil, shivering and silent, a mental barrier now built between them. the next morning, adderstrike left his post upon word from his leader and immediately took over a nest within his new residency and slept till highnoon. waking up, he was greeted with anger and annoyance. he had missed his first warrior duties, but adderstike merely shrugged it off and went on the next patrol, returning with a plump rabbit. he soon became the warrior no one really wanted to be around because he always walked around with a large storm cloud over his head.
forcing your eyes open after a busy night of patrols and of terrifying nightmares, is a hard task. and now, that was the bulky warriors duty this morning, actually, it wasn't that early, the sun had risen and the air smelled faintly of warm raw flesh which rose from the corpses which lain upon the prey pile. rolling maliciously onto his broad back, adderstrike, wiped his tongue over his maw and then slowly opened his eyes. rolling back he released a yawn and his paws stuck out comically in a huge stretch that released his gnarled yellow claws. flipping back over, he stood up and sighed.
realization flushed over his body like cold rain. he had an apprentice now, one he had to train to become a warrior gee thanks willowstar for giving me the imbecile to train! the thought struck a nerve and adderstrike's lip curled at the thought and he stood in his nest, claws kneading the ground trying to think of what to teach the mousebrain. hunting would be a waste of time with his mood, can't give an assessment yet, fighting. ah fighting, sounds like his way to go at the moment. he could get to cuff the apprentice if he wanted, to bad his claws had to be sheathed, oh well it would suffice.
glancing around the camp, adderstrike's whiskers twitched as the wind hit his crown, pushing the fur from his face and making his eyes squint. where was the little guy? tail tip twitching, adderstrike sighed once again and went looking in the apprentices den. poking his head in, adderstrike yowled for batpaw to go to the training hollow, then again before he left the camp. the cat was gonna have to shape up and get on his toes if he wanted to be able to keep up with him. adderstrike disliked laziness and waiting for people. and no way in starclan was he going to wait for an apprentice.
